Good Golly!

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Recently I’ve been meeting quite a few new people and going through the standard getting-to-know-you questionnaires. One of the questions that is a getting-to-know-you eventuality is the question of siblings. Do you have them? How many? When I was younger this always gave me pause. I do have a sister, well half-sister, if you need to get technical. As I child I wasn’t sure if I should. As an adult the answer is simple: I have a sister and she is my hero. Please check out her portfolio, her blog and her infinite skills of organization. It annoyed me when I was younger. Now, I stand in awe and admiration.

PS – Check back Monday for some new work!

Lazy Like Sunday Morning

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

I have mixed feelings about today.

The morning started off as any worthwhile Sunday should. A slow bleary eyed wake up, mumbled exchanges debating where to find a solid plate of bacon all finished off with the eating of said bacon and the drinking of a half a pot of coffee. A good morning, no? Not bad at all. But this one was a little different, a little lonelier. Not because of lack of company, let it be known the company was stellar, but because of the happenings outside our cozy little breakfast.

You see this addiction to greasy spoon breakfasts on lazy Sunday mornings is a hereditary addiction, it comes from my mother and today, my mother moves out of the city. Yup, I’m a mommy’s girl, through and through. For the past 26 years we have lived in the same city. Although, I debated going to away to school and she sometimes drove me crazy enough to make me consider leaving the continent, it never happened, until now. I’m happy and excited for her and will enjoy the new adventure of living sans parental unit in the city, but I will miss our weekly trips to the market and our coveted greasy spoon breakfasts…

Spring Cleaning…in July

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Some of you (There must be at least three people reading this…Hi, Mom!) may have noticed, or know already, that I recently moved. While not a pleasant experience, lets be honest moving rarely is, there have been some fantastic happenings to balance things out.

One of these move related happenings I’ve enjoyed: The cleanse. The purging of material items you have not used, touched, or in some cases don’t remember at all. Basically, If you haven’t touched it in over 6 months, TOSS IT! For example: the ukulele you bought to learn ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ but never progressed beyond the first bar or the burnt orange sweater from that sale on Boxing Day you still haven’t worked up the nerve to wear. What’s the point of this little rant? Well, In the process of my purge, somewhere in between the burnt orange sweater and my collection of unused bath products (Seriously, how many loofahs does one person require?) I realized I have many a painting without a home! And the space for them in my home is quickly becoming non-existent. So, dear readers (Maybe four people by the time I’ve finished writing this…Hi, Dad!) I’m having a painting sale! Please stop by the page and check it out! I need some room to store more work and my landlord wouldn’t mind a rent check now and again.

Prices and sizes are below the images and I am more than happy to ship or personally deliver the works. Just call or email me and we’ll get it in your hot little hands. So click the painting and GO SHOPPING!

See ya later 2009! Don’t forget anything on your way out…

It’s FINALLY a new year, a whole shiny new decade in fact, and I’m determined to hit the ground running. Last year was slow and I can’t say it was the most pleasant year in recent memory and I’ve been looking forward to the fresh clean sheets feeling of the new year.

What’s in store you ask?

Keep an eye out for the continuing of the Heirlooms work, promo’s in the mail, weekly blog updates (Yup, you read it correctly, I said weekly) and digital images to blow your mind….not enough for you? Just wait.

The grad show is over, my thesis complete the only thing left? To train my army of monkeys and dominate the world! … I’d settle for a small island, to tell you the truth.

Thanks to all those who came to the grad show at OCAD and congratulations to everyone who displayed. It was an incredible show and I’m honored to have shown beside you.

I’m moving over the next two weeks so updates will most likey have to wait until after May 24 weekend.

Enjoy the long weekend, I know I will :)

A little spring cleaning…

Monday, March 31st, 2008

It’s spring … sort of (If your in Toronto then your rolling your eyes right along with me) and felt time for a little face lift and update. A few new pieces have been added and the site is, for all intents and purposes, complete. Keep an eye out for a store in the future with books, prints and shiny bits of swag for your consumption.

Until then…

Walker’s Bazzar Life…

Friday, February 29th, 2008

It’s all about thesis, thesis thesis thesis…did you take a look at the thesis? Other than that it’s just been a staring contest between me and the snow. I think I can win this one…

This was done sometime over the summer, a piece of wod found by my friend Allan and traded for some tasty corn. Thanks to Sam for the photograph of this (and all the Heirloom pieces) and Allan for letting me trade food for alley wood. Something to be said for the barter system I tell ya…
